Workplace Stuff is a trading name of Peter Evans Storage Systems Ltd.
In 1968: Peter Evans Storage Systems was established by Peter Evans and John Yeates. Around the same time, John Thorne was employed as a site foreman for the installations department.
1970: John Thorne’s youngest son Chris Thorne was brought on board and employed as a trainee.
1975: Peter Evans Storage Systems printed their first mail order catalogue that was sent out to every customer, the majority of whom were based locally.
1976: A year later Chris Thorne became site foreman in the installations department overseeing mezzanine floor, pallet racking and industrial shelving projects.
1990: Chris was promoted to head of sales. This involved making site visits to customers and being in charge of sales for the whole company.
1992: A very big year for both the company and for Chris Thorne as Chris bought the company and with help of his employees and began his mission to make Peter Evans Storage Systems a hugely successful business.
2014: The catalogue side of the business is completely rebranded, launching ‘Workplace Stuff’ – a brand new, user-friendly e-commerce website.
Over the years we have grown from strength to strength starting with less than one hundred customers in the locality to over a thousand throughout the UK and Europe.
We are now a well renowned and trusted supplier of storage equipment, premises & security products, materials handling equipment, access equipment, health & safety products and much more.
