It always manages to come round so quickly, winter that is. Now whilst you think you’re prepared when the bitter cold weather is upon us, it might be worth another check. Heating in the workplace is a tricky topic at times. Offices can vary from very warm to ice cold, but usually don’t fall in-between. Often during winter months when the majority are cold, those who feel it a bit more are left wishing the months away until Spring arrives. This is one of the reasons why a smaller heating system is preferred. Those who want a little extra warmth can have it without making everyone else suffer. What follows is the decision making process, what kind of heating system do you want/need?
Primarily there are four different types of heaters. Oil Filled Radiators, Convector Heaters, Industrial Heaters and Space Heaters, all of which will be described below. This will hopefully enable you to make an informed decision when purchasing your heater. The descriptions are tailored to heaters we stock, but should cover most bases of that type.
Oil Filled Radiators
- Powered by oil, therefore no excessive electricity bill
- Available in three power options; 800W, 1500 and 2500W (timer also available with 2500W if chosen)
- On wheeled castors so it can move around easily (except 800W model)
- Includes a safety tip-over switch
- Thermostat ability which is able to cut heating elements when desired temperature is reached
Perfect for: Office, Home, Workshop, Showroom & other smaller areas
Convector Heaters
- Quieter than fan heaters as they operate on natural ventilation and not noisy motors
- Adjustable heat settings to find the right temperature for you
- Both types have variants with a turbo setting for quick startup and a timer
- Considered one of the safer heating models on the market
- Easily stored away when not needed
Perfect for: Shops, Offices, Home & other smaller areas
Industrial Heaters
- Use multi-purposely as either a heater, or a fan in warm weather conditions
- No gas, fumes, condensation or smell – 100% dry heat
- Some models mounted on wheels for easy transportation
- Capable of heating an area of 1000ft3 to 24000ft3 (model dependant)
Perfect for: Warehouses, Building Sites, Garages and other large areas
Space Heaters
- Fuel models have a handy gauge tank so you can keep track of how much fuel remains – avoid costly electricity bills!
- A range of options available all differing in the amount of area they can heat
- Portable options with a handle, or on wheels for hassle-free transportation around the premises
- Cost-effective to run – either Paraffin, Kerosene or Diesel
- Odour-free Propane Gas model, also no need for a compressor due to ‘less noise’ attribute
Perfect for: Workshops, Warehouses, Garages and other premises with a large area to heat
