It’s always a good idea to do some research before making a purchase. This can be anything from checking the capacity of an item to materials used to make it. A frequently asked question when barriers are a topic of conversation is often ‘are they weatherproof?’ a very valid question.
Now it depends on the kind of use you anticipate for your external barrier as to whether or not it is indeed able to withstand different weather conditions. We’re not just talking brutal wet and windy weather, the sun has to be taken into consideration too. Do the barriers have UV protection is also a point to consider. If your premises operate on the standard 9-5pm working hours; will you need reflective barriers for when it gets dark in the winter?
There isn’t necessarily a perfect ‘one for all’ barrier as mentioned previously, all workplace requirements will differ so it’s about stripping it all back and finding what is best for your premises.
Even though we just said there isn’t a perfect style of barrier to suit all premises, there are some which come pretty close.
First of all, the WeatherMaster Outdoor Retractable Barrier.
You can eliminate issues that can arise as a result of exposure to the sun as the post(s) are made from stainless steel, so UV stabilisation is not an issue.
What does it do?
Weather:
Suitable for outdoor use as post is colour powder coated which adds an extra protective layer to the steel construction. The base is also made out of rubber and will therefore not get damaged due to water exposure.
UV Exposure:
You can eliminate issues that can arise as a result of exposure to the sun as the post(s) are made from stainless steel, so UV stabilisation is not an issue.
Stability:
External barrier post sits on a 100% heavy duty rubber base which also has a carry handle if it needs to be relocated. The black base is so tough that it can even be driven over!
Reflective:
Does not have a reflective sleeve for night time visualisation, however the available colours (yellow, black, orange and red) aim to attract attention due to their bright nature and striking belt counterparts.
Uses:
Outdoors; restricting access to ongoing works, forming queue lines, outlining the perimeter of premises.
Bonus:
3 year manufacturer’s warranty included!
If the WeatherMaster doesn’t meet your requirements, don’t stop looking. We also have a rather significant range of Plastic Chain & Posts which are also more than capable of safely cordoning off areas or marking queue lines in a way which enables everyone to see.
