Description
The Gate Valve Lockout comprises of 2 flattened half moons with a hollow centre. Hinged at one side, they are placed over the valve and then closed, leaving the valve inside the lockout. You are able to locked this off using up to 3 padlocks directly, or more if used in conjunction with a hasp.
They serve as simple and effective solution for isolating gate valves. These lockouts slip over the top of the handle once the valve is in the appropriate position. Once fitted, the hand wheel is completely encapsulated within the lockout, which will rotate freely around the valve preventing operation. Please see instructions below:
Step 1) Ensure valve is in locked off position
Step 1A) As mentioned below, if you require a clip out center – please let us know. Should you choose this option, the pop out center is for use on valves with a rising stem.
Step 2) Place lockout device over valve wheel and close. Ensure it’s able to rotate freely around wheel
Step 3) Secure lockout with a safety padlock and attach tag to communicate safety message. Where more padlocks are necessary, use a hasp.
